The United Way of Eddy County Emergency Relief Fund (Recovery Phase) is available to Eddy County nonprofit organizations at the forefront of the COVID-19 response.   Non profits applying do NOT need to be currently receiving funding from United Way.

Grants will be reviewed every Monday by a grant committee and applicants advised thereafter of their decision.

GRANTS WILL BE AWARDED FOR:

  • Support nonprofit organizations and other government agencies providing direct assistance to Eddy County residents with financial need or demonstrable hardship resulting from COVID-19.
  • Provide operating support to nonprofit organizations that are meeting community needs resulting from COVID-19, are in financial distress, or having to make modifications to meet the need and safety of clients as well as adhere to state and federal guidelines.
  • Focus is on nonprofit housing and food insecurities as well as other basic needs.
  • Grant allows nonprofits to apply for assistance for equipment or other supplies to operate their organization because of  COVID guidelines (including PPE).

HOW THIS PROGRAM WORKS:

Grant awards and terms will vary in size and will be at the discretion of the committee depending on organizational need.

Organizations can apply any time. Grant is open only as funding allows.

Organizations must be a recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit status from the IRS, and they must be in good standing with the NM Attorney General Office and the NM Secretary of State.  Government agencies (such as schools) may also be considered if they are at the forefront providing basic needs.

This application will be considered separate from any other grant application submitted to the United Way of Eddy County.

Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis. Requests not immediately funded will continue to be considered weekly depending on available funding.

UWEC may share your request with funding partners to increase access for more available emergency funding.

The decision of the grant committee is final and no appeals may be made.

WHAT WILL BE FUNDED AND WHAT WILL NOT?

United Way of Eddy County COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund Grants will be awarded to support nonprofit organizations providing direct assistance to Eddy County residents with financial need or demonstrable hardship resulting from COVID-19 and not otherwise covered by other resources. This may include organizations that supply basic needs to Eddy County, including but not limited to, food, relief from rent and other household expenses, and access to healthcare.

COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund Grants will also be awarded to provide operating support to nonprofit organizations that are meeting community needs resulting from COVID-19.

This specific program will not fund individuals, event sponsorships, or capital projects.

COVID-19 RESPONSE FUND GRANT REPORTS:
