Roll up your sleeves and get to work. That was the message more than 100 volunteers delivered to the community during the United Way of Carlsbad & South Eddy County’s 2014 Day of Caring, organized by Nuclear Waste Partnership. Day of Caring was a one-day event where volunteers spread out across Carlsbad and South Eddy County to help non-profit organizations with a variety of projects including: painting, gardening, clean-up, building and food sorting. The event also included a breakfast kickoff and ice cream social wrap-up. On September 26, volunteers dedicated more than 800 hours at 10 different local nonprofit agencies to complete 15 different projects. Projects were submitted to the United Way and teams were assigned to each project based on ability and scope.
Thank you to Nuclear Waste Partnership for their partnership and support in bringing Day of Caring to South Eddy County.
